The idea behind Lijersey
Ligue 1 + jersey.
That's Lijersey.
The name brings together our two starting points: Ligue 1 and the football jersey. This is an independent place to appreciate the shirts, club identities and personal stories around France's top-flight football culture.
One league. Many identities.
Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Lens and beyond: we look at club culture through colours, collars, stripes and the details people remember. Ligue 1 is our editorial focus; the archive also leaves room for related French club designs, training layers and stories across different eras.
Begin with the club index, explore the season archive, or share a shirt story.
Lijersey is an independent archive and journal focused on French football shirts, design and the stories people attach to them.
We look at a shirt as a visual object: its colour, proportion, badge, collar and the way its details work together. The archive brings existing image references into a more useful setting, with routes through clubs, seasons and collections.
A place to explore and share.
This is a non-commercial appreciation website. We do not sell shirts, take orders, accept payments or provide an ordering service.
How to read the archive
Seasons and design labels follow the source collection. They help organise the references; they are not an authentication service or proof of a physical shirt’s provenance. If you notice a detail that needs attention, we welcome corrections with supporting context.
More than one perspective
The journal is open to personal memories, design observations and thoughtful contributions. Share a story, or visit the image and contribution policy before sending photographs.
